"Through the flood of starving people, warring factions and despair, Who will lift the olive branches? Who will light the flame of care?"

(from the Hymn, "In the Midst of New Dimensions," words & music by Julian Rush)

Who will lift the olive branches during these polarized times?  We will!!  Who will light the flame of care?  We will!

In the year ahead, we invite you to be part of lifting the olive branches by participating in any or all of the ongoing training sessions designed to help us be more attentive listeners to one another, particularly those with whom we may disagree.  The training sessions are ultimately designed to help us listen to one another in ways which connect rather than divide and which seek to understand rather than to judge.  Our hope is, as we grow  more accustomed as a congregation to nurturing an atmosphere of trust around a variety of topics, we will be better prepared to address issues of concern as they arise within our congregation, will be better prepared to respond to challenging conversations in our everyday lives and can then may even be able to serve as a resource carry that skill out in to our community.

On October 15, 22, and 29 (12noon -1:30pm - please bring a bagged lunch), we will offer three training sessions offering practical tools and the opportunity to practice those tools to help us become better listeners and communicators.  These sessions have been designed to fit the needs both of people who are new to the process and to those who have already had some practical training attended last winter's Deeper Conversations trainings.

You can register at registration so that we can know how many lunches and handouts to prepare.

We hope you will join us!

Peace and power to you!
